Circuit Training Fitness Programme

What a phenomenal response! This year has seen the 8 Week Circuit training programme go from strength to strength. As word spread across Gloucestershire of a fun, challenging fitness programme that was accessible to all levels and abilities it soon became one of the most popular bootcamps in Gloucester and Newent. Being sold out within days of opening the doors to each package.

This is the last 8 week programme for this year, but we will be starting all over again on January 8th 2019.

I have really enjoyed creating and executing these progressive fitness routines. Watching the members improve in many ways, fat loss,strength, pain free movement and learning to enjoy becoming fitter again.

Sports Massage Therapy

Alex Penning Personal Trainer is now a qualified Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist.

At the moment I am currently studying for my Level 4 qualification at Bath university.

What this means for you guys… Whilst I’m training to complete my Level 4 in September I want to build as much experience as I can. Working with so many clients and their mobility issues and muscle dysfunction has put me in a great position to help people as a sports massage therapist.

So for a limited time I want to offer half price treatments. £20 for an hour.
You don’t need to be an athlete. Sports massage refers to working with the soft tissue and muscles and with gardening season in full swing some of you may have exerted yourself more than usual.

Providing work experience

Had an amazing opportunity this week to provide work experience to Phoebe. A student from Newent Community School with a passion for a future in physiotherapy and coaching to help people overcome muscle dysfunction and improve the mechanics of a person.

Having several clients with various dysfunction and physiological issues, it was a great place for Phoebe to learn more about this very complex and very interesting subject.

We discussed a variety of methods including trigger point and self myofascial release, massage and strengthening weak muscles or muscles that are not ‘firing’ as ways to improve these imbalances in the body. Last day of the 8 week circuit programme!

After an insane 8 weeks, we’re done!! I am so proud of everyone who has taken part in this programme! Each one of them progressing and improving in these Newent circuit sessions. It was early, it was tough and it started in March, so there were times it was wet and cold too.

That didn’t stop this band of gladiators from coming down and training their asses off! They knew that putting in the effort and looking more carefully into their diets would see them looking their best through summer.

Now it’s time for the next circuit programme starting on the 1st May, which is fully booked and promises to be another fantastic 8 weeks ahead!!

I’m not a fan of eating tonnes of vegetables and fruits so smoothies work well for me.
